Tap to Pay on iPhone allows merchants accept contactless cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets right on your iPhone.
You need a merchant services account with Chase Payment Solutions and the Chase Mobile Checkout-PLUS app installed on your mobile device to use Tap to Pay on iPhone. Connect with our sales team to learn more.
Contactless payments have a transaction limit which is determined by the cardholder’s institution. It is typically set to $250. Transactions over the limit are not supported with Tap to Pay on iPhone and will need to be accepted through an alternative payment acceptance method, such as with a card reader or with manual entry.
Be sure to have a merchant services account with Chase Payment Solutions and have the Chase Mobile Checkout-PLUS app installed on your mobile device before continuing.
- Log in to the Chase Mobile Checkout-PLUS app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the menu icon, and then select Tap to Pay.
- Tap Enable now.
- Follow the prompts to activate.
- Once the activation is complete, you will see the option to use Tap to Pay on iPhone each time you begin a new transaction.
- Log in to the Chase Mobile Checkout-PLUS app on your iPhone.
- Tap Accept.
- Enter the transaction details.
- Select Tap to Pay on iPhone.
- Present the iPhone to your customer.
- Your customer taps their contactless card or digital wallet at the top of your iPhone, over the contactless symbol.
- When you see the “done” check mark, the transaction is complete and you can send your customer a digital receipt.
Tap to Pay on iPhone is supported on iPhones XS and later, and requires the latest version of iOS.
The fees for Tap to Pay on iPhone are the same as accepting a payment with a card reader in the Chase Mobile Checkout-PLUS app. See your merchant agreement for more information.
