Yes, the transaction limit is set by the cardholder's institution and is typically set to $250. Transactions over the limit will need to be accepted through an alternative method, such as with your card reader or via manual entry.
Present your iPhone to your customer and ask them to hold their card horizontally, on top of your iPhone, over the contactless symbol. For Apple Pay and other digital wallets, ask your customer to hold their device on top of your iPhone, near the contactless symbol.

Some card designs and materials, such as metal cards, are less effective at contactless payments. If the physical card payment is not being detected, ask the customer to move the card or device around or reposition it on the iPhone. You can also ask them to try the digital wallet method.
