DX8000: Password management
To begin accepting payments, we require you to set up your terminal passwords. Here is some information to get you started.

Before you begin, think about the passwords you will need to provide to your manager and staff.
- Ideally, each member of your staff should have credentials based on their level of responsibility.
- As an added layer of security, only managers can perform the following password-protected transactions: refunds and voids.
To protect your business, use discretion when sharing passwords and consider changing them on a regular basis.
Setting up your users
- The IDs and the passwords are configured manually on the terminal by accessing the User Menu. To access the User Menu, please call our support line at: 1.800.265.5158.
- You will need to provide your Merchant ID to obtain a temporary password. This number can also be found on any of the printed receipts listed as MID.
The DX8000 terminal supports the following levels of passwords:
- Manager – Unlimited access
- Clerk – Limited access where applicable
- Each ID can support a unique password.
- We recommend the creation of a unique ID/Passcode for each of the 2 password levels.
Setting up your passwords
- From the main screen, choose the menu icon in the upper left corner and select [User].
- Press/tap [Admin]. You will be prompted to “Enter Temporary Use Passcode". Call the support line (1.800.265.5158) to obtain a temporary passcode. Remember to have your Merchant ID ready.
- Press/tap [Add User] located at the bottom of the screen to create a user account.

- Press [Add User] located at the bottom of the screen to create a user account.
- Enter a username (e.g., Jane Smith)
- Enter a password
- Must be 8 characters
- Must contain 1 uppercase letter
- Must contain 1 lowercase letter
- Must contain 1 special character
- Press Confirm to save changes.
