DX8000: Setting up your terminal's passwords
Set up your DX8000 terminal’s passwords to begin accepting payments.
Password privileges
Before you begin, think about the passwords you will need to provide to your manager and staff:
- Ideally, each member of your staff should have credentials for the terminal based on their level of responsibility.
- As an added layer of security, only managers and supervisors can perform the following password-protected transactions: Refund, Void, and Manually Keyed Card.
Two levels of passwords
The Ingenico DX8000 terminal supports two levels of passwords:
- Manager
- Supervisor
The terminal has the ability to support an unlimited number of IDs.
- Each ID can support a unique password.
- The IDs and the passwords are configured manually on the terminal by accessing the Security Menu. To access the Security Menu, please call our 24/7 Merchant Support at 1.800.265.5158.
- We recommend the creation of a unique ID/Passcode for each of the two security levels.
Setting up your passwords
Set up your Supervisor / Manager IDs and passwords on your local terminal by accessing Security Settings.
- MAIN SCREEN
Select [=] to display Menu.
Select Security Settings.
- PASSWORD
Enter Password and press [Confirm].

- SECURITY SETTINGS
Select [Add User] to add new User/Password for a Supervisor/Manager.
Select [Change Password] to change password for a Supervisor/Manager.
Select [Delete User] to delete a Supervisor/Manager user.
- CREATE USER
Select [Manager] to add new Manager user.
Select [Supervisor] to add new Supervisor user.
a. ADD MANAGER USER
Enter the desired User Name & Password.
- Name alphanumeric (max 10 characters).
- Password must be 7 characters and must include a minimum of 1 alpha or numeric character.
b. ADD SUPERVISOR USER
Enter the desired User Name & Password.
- Name alphanumeric (max 10 characters).
- Password must be 7 characters and must include a minimum of 1 alpha or numeric character.
- OPERATION SUCCESSFUL
User has been successfully set up.
