The temporary GST/HST tax exemption will take effect from December 14, 2024 through February 15, 2025. Please follow the instructions for your payment solution to stay compliant.

This tax exemption only applies to certain industries. If applicable, please disable tax processing for the holiday and re-enable it once it has ended.

How to disable tax processing during the holiday on your terminal and app

  1. Navigate to the Product Catalogue from the main menu
  2. Choose the Taxes tab
  3. Choose the tax you would like to disable
  4. Switch the Enable toggle to Off and choose Save at the bottom of the screen
  5. Choose Ok to confirm


How to re-enable tax processing after the holiday on your terminal and app

  1. Navigate to the Product Catalogue from the main menu
  2. Choose the Taxes tab
  3. Choose the tax you would like to enable  
  4. Switch the Enable toggle to On and choose Save at the bottom of the screen


How to disable tax processing during the holiday on your Merchant Portal

  1. Navigate to the Product Catalogue from the main menu
  2. Choose Taxes from the list
  3. Choose the tax you would like to disable
  4.  Switch the Enable toggle to Off and choose Save at the top of the screen
  5. Choose Ok to confirm


How to re-enable tax processing after the holiday on your Merchant Portal

  1. Navigate to the Product Catalogue from the main menu
  2. Choose Taxes from the list
  3. Choose the tax you would like to disable
  4. Switch the Enable toggle to On and choose Save at the top of the screen

How to disable tax processing during the holiday

  1. From the Main Menu, choose the three lines/hamburger menu in the top left corner of the screen
  2. From the Menu option, swipe up and choose Settings
  3. Enter your Username and Password, then choose Confirm
  4. Choose the Transaction tab
  5. Under the Tax menu, choose Tax Prompting and choose Do Not Prompt, then choose Confirm
  6. Choose the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to go back to the previous menu
  7. Choose the System tab
  8. Choose Default Tax Percentage, change the tax value to 0 and choose Confirm


How to re-enable tax processing after the holiday

  1. From the Main Menu, choose the three lines/hamburger menu in the top left corner of the screen
  2. From the Menu option, swipe up and choose Settings
  3. Enter your Username and Password, then choose Confirm
  4. Choose the Transaction tab
  5. Under the Tax menu, choose Tax Prompting and choose Required Entry, then choose Confirm
  6. Choose the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to go back to the previous menu
     

How to re-enable auto tax calculation after the holiday

  1. From the Main Menu, choose the three lines/hamburger menu in the top left corner of the screen
  2. From the Menu option, swipe up and choose Settings
  3. Enter your Username and Password, then choose Confirm
  4. Choose the System tab
  5. Under the System menu, choose Default Tax Percentage, change the tax value to the desired percentage (e.g., 5.250 = 5.25%) and choose Confirm
  6. Choose the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to go back to the previous menu
